Add a New Client

There are two ways to add a new client to the system. Both create the same kind of client record — pick whichever fits how you work.

  1. Create New Client (top bar) — the quick “add client” button in the top bar, next to the client selector. This is the typical advocate workflow.
  2. Check-in Client (side menu) — the “Register New” option on the Check-In Client screen. This is the typical front-desk and volunteer workflow, and it also places the person in the check-in queue. See The Check-In Queue.

A new client needs only three things:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Date of Birth

Everything else — email, phone, postal code, notification preference — is optional and can be added later.

  • Email is optional; if you don’t provide one, the system generates a placeholder so the account can still exist.
  • Send Invitation Notification (top-bar flow) — turn this on to notify the client via their preferred method. Leave it off to create the account as a record only.

After you save, a confirmation appears with Start Intake and View Profile. Choosing Start Intake takes you straight into the intake form for that client — the fastest path when you’re creating the client at the start of a session. You can always close the confirmation and start intake later from the profile instead.
